'On Par' Golf Society
On Par golf society was set up with regular customers to the driving range, and golf course. These players wanted the opportunity to play other courses throughout the year, on a once a month basis, and usually on a Sunday.
The society numbers have gone from strength to strength, with a committee set up to organise and run the golf days. The committee is run exclusively from the driving range, so that all information regarding the days, venues, timings, costs etc. are displayed on a dedicated notice board within the club house.
The society is open to all golfers of all abilities and the courses we play are chosen for the welcoming atmosphere towards visitors and societies making for a great day out for everyone.
Membership is just £15 per year, which covers all of the administration fees, and general running costs of the society.
Handicaps are given to those players without one, and are reviewed on a quarterly basis. All new players will be eligible for the yearly points system after 3 rounds. This system is run over the full year, awarding points to everyone who plays, and prizes at the end of the year will be awarded for the standing positions.
The committee is voted in on a yearly basis and all members are eligable for nomination prior to the AGM which is held in January each year.
The present committee is as follows:-
Graham Mawe Chairman
John Reed Secretary
Sue Didlick Treasurer
Lindsay (Hoss) Fox Captain 2009/10
Karl Spurrier Handicaps
Anyone interested in joining the society or who would like more information can contact the reception during opening hours or e-mail Sue Didlick at olimax@aol.com
